Fish feed Pellet Making Machines are the core equipment in pelleting. However, each customer has different raw material formulations or applications. Sometimes, a single machine cannot meet diverse needs. Therefore, multiple auxiliary machines are often needed to form a complete production line to efficiently produce the high-quality fish feed pellets you require. Below is a typical fish feed production line to help you understand the main processing flow.

Depending on production volume, you will need to prepare sufficient raw materials. Newly transported raw materials need to undergo cleaning in the equipment to remove impurities. To ensure the safety of the entire process, the raw materials require cleaning at multiple stages.

If your raw materials are already in powder form, you can mix them directly. If the raw materials are coarse, they will need to be ground. Unlike regular animal feed, the material will be ground twice to achieve a finer consistency. The finer the consistency, the easier it is for fish to digest.

After being pulverized, the material enters a mixer for batch processing. Generally, it undergoes three mixing stages. First, the coarsely pulverized materials are mixed. Then, after a second pulverization, the fine powders are mixed again to ensure a balanced particle size distribution in each batch.

After mixing, pelleting can begin. The type of equipment can be selected based on the type of feed. The raw materials enter the pellet mill through the feed inlet. If it’s a fish pellet mill or a wet extruder, the raw materials need to undergo high-temperature steam conditioning. Then, the ring die rollers or screw, will extrude and shear the raw materials to form pellets.

Freshly produced pellets are at high temperature and humidity. If transported or stored directly, they are prone to breakage or mold. Therefore, a dryer reduces the moisture content of the feed pellets to below 13%.

For better palatability, you can add oils or vitamins after drying using a spray system. Then, it enters a cooling system to cool and set. After sieving, qualified feed pellets are packaged for transportation or storage.
