Furthermore, the porous structure allows the pellets to float on the water surface for an extended period; this not only minimizes water pollution but also enables farmers to monitor feeding activity closely, facilitating precise feeding management.

3. How should pellets be stored in Malaysia’s hot and humid environment?

- Moisture removal. After the pellets exit the pellet mill, a cooling unit lowers their temperature to near-ambient levels. During this process, surface moisture is also removed. Maintaining a final moisture content of approximately 12% effectively reduces the risk of mold growth and cracking.
- Use sealed packaging. It is advisable to use moisture-proof bags. Once bagged, the pellets should be placed on mats or pallets to prevent contact with the ground and avoid moisture absorption.
