Twin Screw Extruder Working Process
To understand a twin screw extrusion machine, you can start by learning how it works. This is an important step in determining if the equipment is suitable for your needs. The entire extrusion process does not rely on extensive manual operation. Our engineers will set the equipment parameters. Afterward, employees only need to place the material into the feed inlet, and the conical twin screw extruder can automatically perform conveying, mixing, shearing, heating, pressurizing, and extrusion molding.
The variable frequency feeding system continuously delivers material to the DDC-Conditioner, where it undergoes steam curing, effectively increasing feed yield.
The material then enters the extrusion chamber. Two screws rotate synchronously, propelling the material forward.
During the conveying process, the screws compress against each other, generating shearing, extrusion, and frictional forces that form uniform clumps of material.
During this process, the pressure inside the chamber gradually increases. As the material passes through the die orifice, it expands rapidly and is then cut into uniform sizes by a cutter, forming high-quality pellets.

Twin screw extrusion machines can produce sinking, slow-sinking, and sinking feeds. The key is to control the starch and oil content of the raw materials, as well as the die opening size, expansion time, processing moisture content, and temperature. Fish feed pellets
When producing fish feed, the internal temperature of a twin-screw extruder can reach 100-150 degrees Celsius. This high temperature can kill bacteria in the material while avoiding excessive damage to the nutrients in the raw materials.

To ensure the pellets sink quickly and don’t break apart, the overall temperature is controlled between 105-125 degrees Celsius, reducing the outlet puffing degree, resulting in a final pellet density greater than 1.1 g/cm³.
