If you want to achieve efficient production and high-quality pellets, besides appropriate output, finding a high-quality straw pellet mill is even more important. You can consider this from the equipment’s structure, materials, and processing flow. Next, let’s look at the significant advantages of biomass pellet mills:

Miscanthus granule production process
  • The Miscanthus Pelleting Machine minimizes material waste. This is mainly thanks to the anti-arching feeder. Two rollers continuously break up the material and force it into the pellet mill, ensuring a smooth pelleting process.
  • The ring die and pressure roller are key components for extruding and shaping materials. They are all made of 24CrMo alloy steel, which is highly wear-resistant. This industrial-grade material effectively resists the wear caused by silica in Miscanthus sinensis, making it ideal for long-term mass production.
  • Multi-specification ring dies and continuously variable-speed cutters are ready to prepare you for the production of various types of pellets.
  • High-efficiency, low-consumption Siemens motors, coupled with variable frequency speed control, can be adapted to different raw materials and production conditions.
  • The transmission system uses high-quality SKF bearings and oil seals, ensuring high efficiency and low noise. It also prevents dust from entering the equipment, reducing damage to critical components.
  • The miscanthus pellet mill is equipped with a safety protection device. In case of overload, the safety pin will automatically break, triggering the limit switch to automatically shut off the machine and protect it.

Overall, using a Miscanthus pellet mill is very convenient. The entire process only requires manual feeding of the material into the feed inlet. The material then undergoes three stages: feeding, extrusion, and discharge, ultimately producing high-density, compact combustible pellets.

1. Feeding and Adjustment:
Before pelleting, the Miscanthus undergoes pre-treatment such as crushing and drying. Then, the feeding speed is adjusted according to the material characteristics, and the feeder evenly delivers the material into the pelleting chamber.
2. Extrusion Molding:
At high temperature, the Miscanthus gradually softens. The continuously rotating pressure rollers press it into the die holes, forming cylindrical strips.
3. Cutting and Discharge:
The cutter quickly cuts the strips of material into uniformly sized combustible pellets.

If you intend to use Miscanthus to produce ruminant feed, the Miscanthus animal feed pellet mill also includes a conditioning system. High-temperature steam improves the material’s ripening, making it easier for animals to digest.

Miscanthus is a high-yield crop. Once planted, it can be harvested continuously for 15-25 years without annual sowing. Furthermore, it doesn’t require fertile arable land and can thrive even in cold, arid environments. This provides a sufficient and stable raw material base for pellet production.

Even more encouraging is the high calorific value of Miscanthus, comparable to that of wood pellets. This is why more and more companies are using Miscanthus as a raw material for biomass fuel pellets. In addition, Miscanthus pellet mills can also produce animal bedding pellets, organic fertilizer pellets, and feed pellets. After pelleting, the raw material has a more uniform shape and is easier to store, transport, and use. Let’s look at the advantages of each type of pellet below.

Since producing Miscanthus sinensis pellets has so many benefits, let’s take a look at how these pellets are made. Generally, the process involves cleaning, crushing, drying, pelleting, cooling, sieving, and packaging. The entire production process revolves around the Miscanthus pellet mill. Other processes are not fixed; for example, if your raw materials are sufficiently dry, certain steps can be omitted. When designing solutions, everything is based on the client’s actual needs. First, you need to prepare enough reeds. This is the foundation for continuous pelleting. Afterwards, the cleaning equipment will remove dust and impurities from the raw materials.

This step involves crushing large or long raw materials into fine powder. Of course, if your raw materials have already been processed, you can skip this step.

The moisture content of the miscanthus is also a crucial factor affecting the final yield and quality of the grains. We recommend an optimal moisture content range of 13%-15%. If your raw material is fresh miscanthus with high moisture content, a drum dryer will typically be added to the production equipment.

In this step, the miscanthus pelletizing machine performs continuous pelleting production, generating uniform pellets.

The main equipment in this process is a cooling machine. Cold air quickly removes heat from the particles, ensuring the final temperature does not exceed room temperature +3°C to 5°C. The entire process takes only 6-15 minutes.

The screening machine will separate out qualified particles. This ensures the product is of high quality. Afterwards, it is packaged and sealed according to your required specifications. You can choose automatic or manual packaging.
