Tofu cat litter, as a plant-based cat litter, is environmentally friendly and harmless, and is increasingly favored by pet-owning families.
The overall production process of tofu cat litter includes crushing, mixing, pelleting, drying, screening, and packaging, similar to a standard cat litter production pellet line.
However, it’s important to note that because tofu cat litter is primarily made from soybean residue and plant fiber, it has a strong water absorption capacity. During pelleting, a cat litter pelleting machine with a conditioner is typically used. Steam conditioning softens the abundant starch within the raw material, increasing the pellet formation rate. But this results in a higher moisture content in the freshly produced pellets. To increase pellet strength, a drying process is usually included to reduce the moisture content.
